Player protection tools at TAB
Every TAB account includes the following controls. They can be activated at any time from your Account → Settings → Responsible Gambling page.
Deposit Limits
Set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limits. Limits can be reduced instantly; increases take effect after a 7-day cooling-off period.
Stake Limits
Cap the maximum amount you can stake per bet, per day, or per week.
Loss Limits
Set the maximum loss you'll accept over a defined period. The account locks once the limit is hit and won't accept further bets until the period resets.
Time-out
Take a 24-hour, 7-day, or 30-day break from your account. No bets, no deposits, no marketing emails for the duration.
Self-exclusion
Close your account for 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, or permanently. Self-exclusion is logged with the National Self-Exclusion Register.
Reality Check
In-session reminders showing time spent and net result. Set the interval that works for you.
Warning signs
If any of the following apply, talk to someone:
- Spending more than you can afford to lose.
- Chasing losses with bigger bets.
- Hiding your gambling from family or friends.
- Gambling to escape stress or low mood.
- Borrowing money to gamble.
- Feeling restless or irritable when not gambling.
Underage gambling
Gambling at TAB is restricted to persons 18 years and older. Every account is FICA-verified against the South African Department of Home Affairs records before play is enabled. Anyone under 18 attempting to register is automatically blocked and reported to the regulator.
